Ross finally to Nikolai

FEW!!  Finally Ross is into Nik, maybe that will be the hurdle that he needs to cross.  I am sure Ross is feeling the pains of 300 miles of hell.  THe team was cooking right along on the tracker moving around 10 mph.  And he has 15 of them.  I am,still not going to give him sympathy when he gets here to MG, and he is not scratching , Karen will see to that!

I spent the better part of the day in Tak, i drove the monster back over here on a new trail i learned about.  This different trail is 5 miles longer but way smoother, i had her opened up to 60mph, the computer on this machine will indicate if i go over 85mph and the owner of the machine will know, and up in these parts i am sure it would be smart not to piss this guy off.  The moguls on the dog trail from MG to Tak were hurendous.  I left this AM before the sun came up, and I was soon regreting lending my nice mitts to Ross  for the race.  I dont have back up mitts with me so i went the chore gloves, it was frigin cold, i found out later that it was -36 here this morning.  Those handlebar warmers took their time warming up.

Back here in MG I found Tom Thirston.  Tom is a great friend and we have raced against one another a few times in the lower 48.  Tom was suppost to go to Tak, but has held up here instead.  He is having some dogs in his team holding back a little, mentally some of this dogs are not keeping it together.  I can relate to his stressful situation, in 2005 I also intended to go to Tak, but had to hold up here in MG, the dogs were not mentally prepared and myabe too young to travel so far while being tired.  We’ll see the out come in the days ahead, but i think Tom will 24 here and start fresh tomarrow with short runs, Tom is a great musher and will work through this tough time i am sure.  There are also some other teams here not doing so well, or teams that have a couple key dogs that need some extra massaging.  Linwood Feilder is also not in a great situation, he only has 9 dogs left and only 7 super sound dogs.  Does this situation have anything to do with running all the way to Finger lake on the first run of the race?

I am pretty bored here now, so maybe i will think of something more to write later.  Maybe i should go for another rip over to Tak for some steak!
